Changing behaviours
Raising awareness and understanding on sustainability issues is vital to shining a light on the part we play in contributing to sustainable development. Wood’s approach to sustainability seeks to deliver our strategy and goals through the actions of our people, and the behavioral change needed to achieve our vision for a better tomorrow. Informed by our stakeholder relationships, sustainability provides a holistic lens to view our stakeholder needs; creating balance between stakeholder priorities and our ability to deliver sustainable growth is key.
Our approach
By embedding sustainability in Wood’s business strategy and reflecting this within our key governance structures, we aim to empower our people to take ownership of sustainability and help meet the needs of tomorrow through the actions we take today. We strive for an entire organisation engaged in maintaining and strengthening Wood’s position as a sustainable company through attaining ambitious sustainability goals as well as helping to deliver sustainable solutions that enable the global transition to a low carbon future.

Aligned to global priorities as a member of the United Nations Global Compact since 2009, we embed sustainable practices that seek to uphold the ten global principles across labour, human rights, environment and anti-corruption and deliver Wood’s contribution to the seventeen Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Set against our decade of change, our evolving sustainability goals seek to influence these positive changes across the sustainability agenda; aligned to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), they are our commitment to help power progress towards a shared ambition.
Measuring our performance
By setting group wide goals on sustainability, we monitor performance against a range of KPIs linked to leadership bonus plans and Long-Term Business Incentive (LTIP) plans. Our sustainability goals evolve from our periodic materiality assessment and leadership discussions at board level, with additional KPIs proposed by our business functions to deliver sustainable value to both our business and stakeholders.
